How Do I Get Rid of Diabetes

Food Revolution ️

Two Meals a Day: Ditch the constant snacking! I switched to just two meals daily, with only water in between (except for the occasional green tea – that stuff's a lifesaver!).

Sugar Siege: Sweets, pizza, pasta, bread, biscuits, juices – all these became forbidden enemies.

Grain Games: I reduced wheat, rice, and jowar (millets) but added a nutty squad – almonds, walnuts, peanuts, flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, and even watermelon seeds (who knew?). Eggs became my protein buddies, and chicken and fish joined the party. Initially, I even ditched grains completely until my fasting sugar dipped below 125 mg/dl (doctor's orders!).

Salad Sensations: Veggies galore! Leafy greens, above-ground vegetables – I aimed for a whopping 500-600 gms a day (raw, mind you!). But hold on, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, and sago were off-limits – they pack a sneaky sugar punch. ‍

Fruity Moderation: Fruits are great, but moderation is key. I kept it under 250 gms daily and steered clear of mangoes, cheeku (sapota), and seetafal (custard apple) – their sweetness can be a bit too much. Initially, I even skipped fruit altogether until my meds lessened.

Fitness Fiesta ‍

Cardio Champion: Walking became my best friend! My daily goal was 6500 steps (around 5 km) in less than an hour. The more you walk, the better, but listen to your body – even smaller amounts help.

Doctor Duo ‍

HbA1c Hero: This test became my monthly companion. Every time it dropped below 6, I'd talk to my doctor about reducing my meds. Over-medication leads to hypoglycemia (low blood sugar), which is no fun.
